Great American Train Show
  January 2001

The St. Louis ETE chapter participated in the Great American Train Show the weekend of January 6th & 7th, 2001. Nearly 20,000 people attended the two day event. In addition to a half-dozen St. Louis area ETE members, Jay Harlow (photographer) from Omaha, NE, and Victor Sredl from KY came in for the show.

ETE placed 4th out of eight or nine operating layouts. The operational catenary and Marklin digital sound locomotives attracted a lot of attention. As you will see from the photographs below, our modules are still in various stages of completion, some with permanent scenery, others with only "temporary" scenes for the show. But the show was well worth the time and effort to re-energize the chapter members, promote ETE and have a great weekend running trains.
