The St. Louis Chapter of ETE (European Train Enthusiasts) displayed and ran dozens of European trains at the Great American Train Show, January 18th & 19th. The 9 by 14-foot modular layout consisted of six flat, styrofoam-topped modules built in six days using the RocoLine track system with roadbed.
While the layout didn't win, place or show, the chapter did receive a $50 participation check from GATS and lots of attention from thousands of show visitors.
The chapter - which went into the show with three paid members - signed up two new paid members during the show and is now up to nine members.
For more detail on the show and modules read the St. Louis ETE January, 1997 Chapter Newsletter.
